Against the Police
No matter what the cause was, violence will attract the attention of the police, and the BPP did get a lot of that.
On April 6th, 1968. Unarmed Bobby Hutton was shot dead 10 times by police officers in a 90 minute gun battle between them and the BPP. This left the BPP in turmoil, for they lost a prominent member of the group.
The Police and The FBI were considered a high class enemy against the BPP. Numerous inside jobs and undercover work in the media was done to try to halt them and the movement they were spreading
Fred Hampton, a man known for spreading tne charity work done by the Black Panthers in Chicago. His house was raided by police and he was shot 2 times in the head and shoulders.
